What is the SEDA Energy Audit / Energy Audit Conditional Grant?

The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Energy Audit Grant or the Energy audit conditional grant (EACG 2.0) whereby grants are given to commercial and industrial sectors to collaborate with Energy Commission (ST) registered energy service companies (ESCOs) to undertake an energy audit in their buildings. This programme is created under the 12th Malaysia plan (RMk-12) and is available from 2021-2025. A limited amount of grants are given for each year and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

What are the Energy Audit Conditional Grant Eligibility Requirements?

In order to be eligible to apply for the Energy Audit Conditional Grant (EACG 2.0), you must satisfy the following:

  1. For any commercial building and/or industrial installations
  2. Minimum electricity consumption of 100,000 kWh / month.
  3. You have never received previous EACG under RMk-11
  4. You must appoint an ESCO that is registered with the Energy Commission
  5. The Energy Audit must be conducted within 2 months after signing the contract with SEDA
  6. You must implement a part of the proposed energy saving measures within 3 years of the contract

If your company has two production plants at different locations, where the electricity consumption for each plant is at least 100,000 kWh, you are eligible to apply for both plants.

What is the SEDA Energy Audit Grant Limit?

For Industrial

Companies in the Industrial sector can apply for the SEDA Grant for up to RM 100,000 per site/account

For Commercial

Companies in the Commercial sector can apply for the SEDA Grant for up to RM60,000 per site/account
